What does RTC4488 do?

The RTC4488 differential kit supplies the primary gearing that transfers drive from the propeller shaft into the rear axle shafts on vehicles fitted with a Salisbury rear axle. The crownwheel and pinion form the gearset that changes the drive direction and establishes the final drive ratio for the rear axle. A four-pinion arrangement spreads load across multiple pinions to reduce stress on individual pinion teeth and distribute forces through the axle casing.
